Happy News!

Well for wonderful happy news, my tattoo pen has arrived!  At the address on file for paypal . . . opps.  I forgot the last time I used paypal to pay for something and ship it was when I shipped Jasmine and Phoenix to my aunts when we moved from NY.  So my tattoo pen is at her house!  Ha, at least she still lives there and I can pick it up tomorrow night.
I'll be spending tomorrow driving to Alexandria or Cynthiana for Nutrena or PenPals.  Either way!
My saddle for Phoenix has been ordered and next step, when I stop over for my tattoo pen, is to drop off the last payment on Heidi!
Time to get ready for work . . . . .

Some Cheerful thoughts for a dreary day

Tax return is back!  YES,  I've got my eyes on the saddle for Phoenix. I'm hoping to find it locally- someone has one listed on craigslist, I have to send them a message about seat size and does it have the changeable gullets, is it flocked or CAIR panels.  I want one with the interchangeable gullets and the CAIR panels since I don't know anyone that can change the flocking.   Time to grab my cell phone and send them a message!!  If not I've got my eyes on one on Ebay, not much more than that.  The gullet kit I'll have to order soon too, it has the gauge and the extra gullets there, they usually only sell with the medium.  I'm fairly sure Pheonix is a medium wide. Very very good.
The second part of this is I'll finally have the last payment on Heidi done!!!!  Heidi will be fully paid for and fully mine. I started to pay for her just under a year ago(April 2012 was the first payment, I'm fairly sure)  Finally.  That'll be one more thing lifted off my mind.  One less thing to make a payment on or mentally keep track of what I owe to people.
The sad parts that at first bothered me but they don't now is the rabbit show.  I know a few years ago I went to this show, but it's changed locations and it's 3 hours away.  I wanted to go to it soo badly but there's just no physical way I can get up early enough to show there. I might make a day trip out of it to drive up and at least Register a couple bunnies and finish the trade for Bethany to a tort doe. I think if I do everything correctly I should be able to get a solid tort line going just like my solid blue line.  I'll be picking up the second set of buck cages this coming weekend as well.  It's just exciting seeing things all come back together like they are.  I'm finally coming together and getting everything organized, maybe 2013 is the year I get my act completely together!
The first part of my 5day weekend this weekend will be spent cleaning and reorganizing my room a little bit.  I've got a few things that need to get cleaned up and moved about  to hopefully help de-clutter my room.  I'll probably get rid of some of my books and a few other odds and ends little stuff so that I can get my room wayy more organized than it is. Got so many things in my head I need the time to sort it all out!  I've been feeling so energized for the day and the ride home after work at night usually settles me enough to crawl into bed, check my email and go to sleep.

Good ole' days

I really do wish the weather would make up it's mind.  It's been gorgeous the past couple of days and coming into my 5 day weekend, it's going to SNOW.  What is going on?  I got stuff to do, things I really want to do and stuff I need to do.  Come on mother nature!  I'm so tired of the cold, tired to carrying hot water jugs to the barn for the bunny bottles.  Let's be a little more condusive to helping get things done.
I'm really hoping my tax return gets back to me this week sometime.  I really want to get the stuff ordered that I need so it makes it here in time.  I want/need to get Heidi paid off, get a saddle to fit Phoenix and the rest is going to be set aside for one trip or the other.
Thinking trips, I finally looked up directions for the rabbit show I had intended to go to this weekend- and that's a no go.  I didn't realize when I went to it a couple years ago that it's moved locations, it used to only be about 2.5 hours, it's now over 3 hours and I just simply can't do that, the 2.5 hours was pushing it only because of the time I have to get up in the mornings.  So my first show this season will be Shepardsville.  Kylie gets to come with me as well!  Hopefully we'll have a registrar there and I can get the chunk I needed to get registered, get them done.  It's only Connie, Marcie, Raf, Natalie and Colby!
Anyway.  It's that time of the morning to get moving, and the wind is howling outside so that just adds to the fun.  I saw the ponies both laying down sleeping when I came home last night so hopefully they're well rested before this nasty weather rolls in.

Mini Rant

Okay this one is work related.  I've had a couple of people making assumptions about me because I am a girl.  The same stupid lines I've heard over and over:
"Oh you can't do this, it takes a man to do this job, girls aren't strong enough" Okay jackasses, I'm probably stronger than half of them over there, and I've got a drive to see my work through-try again.
"You probably can't keep up, if they're running hard and fast"- Okay so that may be true, but you never know until you try, Right?  How on earth do those STUPID men that I work with ever really understand that "you can do what you set your mind to do" and that I took this position after reading the job requirments and signing a peice of paper that says I read them and I am stating that I CAN do this job?
Okay, so I'm not your average women, I'm a tomboy, a bitch alot of the times and I've got a certain set of mental parameters in my brain that I adhere to.  I don't like people making assumptions about me if they don't know me or even understand me.

Happy morning!

Well I quite enjoyed myself this morning.  I yanked the horses blankets off and took a few quick pictures of them since their fur wasn't fluffed up, easier to see what they look like underneath!  Phoenix doesn't look too bad, at least not for 29 years old.

AND Colby ate a full dutch ration of feed yesterday!  FINALLY I mean he's been putting back on weight very, very slowly but it's improvement!!!

~Picture Day~

Well it was fairly decent outside this morning- sunny and in the low 40's so I groomed up both ponies and sat out in the pasture and took a TON of pictures.  Phoenix still looks thinish bu the actually doesn't feel anywhere near as badly as he did in the past couple of months. But anyway, enough chatter, get on with the pictures!!!
And just for some 'shits and giggles' Heidi's new purple brushes.  I used them on her today so they aren't clean anymore.  Now they do have a green set just like it at Tractor Supply which I'll be getting for Phoenix eventually.
Just for fun shots, the ponies matching stuff!!  Hatlers and Leads, and their saddle racks!
Just waiting on the saddle!!
So I came inside to thaw back out, I spent far too long in the barn and my fingers were numb so I came in and checked the weather, ate some lunch-had to make a run up into town and when I got back, checked the weather yet again to make sure it was correct and went out for evening feed.  The weather was forcasting sleet, freezing rain and ice for tonight so I tossed the blankets back on the horses, and as I'm typing this I can hear the ice hitting the roof so I'm glad I did!

Just a little Dutch love

Well these are all old pictures of dutch bunnies but I still LOVE the breed.  They're all so sweet and friendly and watching them grow it's just amazing to me!! I'm already starting to think of names for the new babies in the box already!  Such gorgeous little ones!

Cuteness

Well I finally took these pictures off the camera.  It's of Juliet's litter, a few of Becky's and the water bottles.
The solid black, the heaviest marked and the lightest marked are the girls, the two medium(nicely) marked ones are the two bucks. Figures!

These are Becky's 4 decent marked babies.  She's got two tied elbows and one split stop baby- these are Leo babies.

These are all my bottles some are so old and stained on the outside but they have all been bleached on the inside and scrubbed on the outside the best they can.  The bucket in the back has the caps and washers for them.
The babies have all opened their eyes, Becky's are only just opening, so over the next couple of days I'll get them sexed out so I know what I have!
I just finished setting and reserving mine and A.Lisa's spots for Ladies Night at the Range.  Aileen might even take a day off and join us too.  I think it'll be SUPER fun.  I hate goign to things like this by myself so I'm making A.Lisa come with me.  I think it would be really fun.  Besides gives me a chance to figure out what caliber hand gun I should be looking for- for personal protection reasons.  I don't intend to hunt with mine, just keep it for protection.
Anyway, work is beckoning me and I have to go eat and get ready to go.  I should have a good night, no matter what I'm doing.  It's sooo much better in the dough room.  Way more relaxed.

Glee

Well I checked Juliet's babies this morning, the two lightly marked ones that I wanted to watch grow as prospective show does, are both bucks.  Good news-they're the only two bucks in her litter!  The heavier marked, the charlie and the solid black are all girls.  That's good news.     I've got a guy that wants a doe, he wants a full pair but everything is related to each other between mine and A. Lisa's New Zealands- which is fine for us, but the guy's going to have to search elsewhere for the opposite gender from the baby he gets from me/A.Lisa.
I did lose one fader from Grace's litter.  It seemed to refuse to thrive after weaning.  I knew it was going to die and the best part is it was a buck.  Bucks don't sell anyway, still sucks that it wouldn't grow.  I even tried to un-wean it and bring it back to being with mommy-nothing worked.  I've got a guy from TN that wants a trio and he's supposed to get Kylie-bun's blue buck baby, and a doe from each of Marcie and Grace's litters.
I'll be re-breeding Keisha, and Legacy tomorrow.  I meant to do it today but with putting back out the water bottles I just didn't have the time(I know it's just stick the doe in with the buck and watch).  So they'll have later March litters.  I'm hopeful this time for some good babies.  Keisha's last litter, which froze, were all beautifully marked.
I don't know what I did to Marie, she's disappeared and I really do wonder what happened.  What did I say?  What happened?  I can't find her anywhere.  I guess everyone needs a break from people for a little while.  I'll try emailing or texting her a little bit later.
I'm still excited about getting my tax return back.  I pulled Phoenix's saddle pad out and it's sitting on a stand with his riser pad.  I have to clean out the barn sooo badly this coming couple of days off. Wednesday we're going to try to strap up the round bale- since the cows will eat most of it- and bring it over to let the cows eat it.  The horses won't touch it.
I think I figured out why everyone likes that guy in Salt Lick's hay- there's clover in it.  Ha!  Clover is the culprit!  That's okay.  I've got the bunnies eating Montgomery's hay and the horses will have to go back to it once their store of the clover filled hay is gone.  Poor babies no extra sweet clover in their hay.  No wonder they've been so excited to get their hay.

Utter grossness!

Well since the bottles had frozen completely I took them down and inside today.  They're gross, I knew they were gross.  And I let them thaw in the bathtub while I went over to my aunts to have a chatty afternoon(and relaxing) and also get my taxes done since she's got TurboTax and my Federal is all done and e-filed, state needs to be mailed in yet.
I'm hoping I can get it back in the next week or two so I can order the saddle for Phoenix.  He's actually looking and physically FEELS decent under all his fluff.  Heidi needs more excercise, she's getting chunky!  I'm glad to see this actually though.  If with the cutback on the grain, Heidi can still put on weight and Pheonix can add weight, I'm THRILLED!
The tax return will get Heidi's last payment done, get the extra saddle for me to ride Pheonix and the rest will be held onto for my trip to NY this June and probably a trip to FL to see Dustin preform live.  That's my biggest thing right now.  I REALLY want to see and meet Dustin.  Can I say a minor crush on him just via his voice and the 'tone' in which he carries in his voice.
The rabbits are doing actually quite nicely.  I'm happy with the way they are coming along.  I still need to work on my tort dutch but that'll be coming this spring/summer as I add some more to it.  I actually think Dalton's starting to grow-that's good news!  Time for me to start getting peice by peice of my new cages at least the other buck cages- I'll start with them first.  Dalton, Colby and Leo will get the first set.  I might have to get the last brood doe cage after that, as I already have 2 of the 30 x 36's, just need the third one and then the legs for it.  That'll be a good thing, get the last of them done then it'll be one more stacking set of 30 x 30's to get and then I can re do the cage system in the barn and be rid of the tiny cages that I'll only use for the Hollands.
The bleach I used today is making my hands STINK and are so super dry.  So I'm going to stop typing and get some lotion on them- at least help the dryness.  Hopefully I get up early enough tomorrow to get some pictures of the horses to post, I haven't taken any of them in a long time!

Coming together

Well I think everything is FINALLY starting to come together.  Had a nice short, mostly relaxing night at work and I'm definently less sore today than I was yesterday.  We got out early enough that we(as in Dad and I) stopped at Walmart, got new shoe inserts for my work shoes, I got the Zyrtec allergy med since the clariton isn't working, picked up a multi-vitamin.  Came home, ate something since I was hungry from skipping lunch yesterday before work and cuddled up to bed about 1 am, an hour earlier than normal.  Got up, even got 8 hours of sleep, paid a couple bills online and ordered my new riding helmet.  It feels good to finally get some stuff done, I'm not being rushed or anything else today.  Just slow and relaxed. Now to get out of bed where I'm cozy warm to go outside where it's cold to get my furry loved ones fed. It'll be all good.
For any of those that don't know me too well at all, I have been dying to see this one guy play live and with Nestle doing a plant wide shutdown first part of April, Dad and I might go to Florida for a few days of it.  I swear I will see Dustin Seymour play live and I don't care if it's at the local pub.  Two of his songs I want to hear him sing them in person- Up in Flames and My Last Stand.  I am so in love with those two songs, plus a few by Christian Kane(Eliot Spencer from Leverage) Both have phoenominal voices. and Dustin's soo good looking.  What's wrong with me?
I guess one might say I woke up in a positive mood today, ready to go!

Crazy

Work was absolutely INSANE last night.  I had what would technically be classified as a weapon and the kid I was working with was being an ass- not a good combo with me, thankfully when the line I was on changed over and ran the second item- I was moved to a different area cause I was seriously ready to stab him!  I hate saying this but I'm glad the next two nights I'm with the local OCD person and my dad.  I'm bone tired and sore!  I took a 600mg Ibuprofen before bed last night and it took until a tad after 3 to finally start kicking in so I could go to sleep.  I'm still super tired but tonight I shall manage that won't be so bad; over tired versus wore out, overheated and irate.
This sunday, there won't be any riding for me for a little while, I have to order a new riding helmet I broke my other one after my ride.  Wonder what happens when you drop a 'light' saddle on top of a riding helmet?  Well it breaks!  Ah well, the helmet was old that I knew and I've wanted to get a new one for a while now this gives me a reason.  I shall be doing my taxes, I want to get the vet out for shots and teeth before Kylie gets here, get my other saddle ordered plus get Heidi paid off.  Must have my taxes done!
The other thing with them, Kylie's coming for a visit.  I kind of can't wait. Gives me something to look forward to.  She'll be here over one of the rabbit show weekends so I might just go to the show for a little while.  I promised a few folks I'd be at that show.  That was just a totally random thought too!  Kylie's welcome to come but she's also welcome to stay home and sleep!  I wouldn't blame her for that one!
I have some nice coats coming in on my rabbits- I'm quite, quite thrilled with that.  It'll be good and helpful as the first show I do plan on entering a few, but most are going for registering reasons, then showing comes after that.
After snuggling with my bunnies this morning, I really do think that it's time to cut back on them.  It might mean letting a few nice ones go but so be that.  Bring in and get some torts to build back up so my torts and blues are fairly equal and I'll keep the trio of steel/gray and the trio of blacks and that'll be all besides my blues and torts.
I'm super glad, I got lots of kisses this morning- I got some from my bunnies and some from Heidi.  I think I might also have figured out something weird.  I'm going to look around and see what I can do to have it looked into some more but thehay quality.  Before I couldn't get the horses or rabbits to eat as much hay - not of the montgomery's hay.  But that last load of squares I got from the other guy- they LOVE it.  The horses eat up their whole bale no problems the rabbits eat it(Colby eats up his handful of hay and all his feed) so I am kinda curious as to what's going on.  I'll be putting aside some $$ again to get another load of that hay in so I can try putting out more hay and see if that helps Phoenix or not.  Gosh-bi-golly that was weird.

Surrender

I know, another update without pictures but words instead.  I've got three really close friends(for safety sake, letters of their first names will be used), all three have the link to this blog.  Who reads it or not is another story.  I had M helping me keep my mind last night while talking to K and R.  R attacking K without K knowing it and I was trying to stop it but, well I surrendered.  I got R off the topic but It feels terrible being stuck in the middle of two of your best friends when one hates the other and it's totally a frustrating situation to be placed in.
Well K is going to come down and spend spring break down here, unwinding and relaxing and we'll be taking Pheonix and Heidi out for some peaceful relaxing rides.  Good to relax.  R and K were horse buddies, M and R are bunny buddies so K and M haven't crossed paths.  It makes me want to be a hermit and anti-social at times, I get frustrated with humans in general at times too.
Anyway.  I was an idiot again this morning, I try to put Colby out in the x-pen every other morning while I'm feeding and I open all my cages when I feed, closing the bottom row cages when I get done feeding them.  Well Rachel-Bun is on the bottom on one side and I left her open after feeding so I could put some extra hay in her cage and she decided to go check out the bunny in the x-pen.  Let's just say bunnys can breed through cage wires, especially ones as big as the x-pen's that I have.  So I guess I just might be having a tort litter.  I'll be watching her because she's not yet full size.  Alot of my stupidity is coming from where I'm looking at changing feeds yet again.  I'm looking at PenPals for a feed now and it's irratating me just thinking about it.
Sometimes, alot more as of recently, I still think about stopping the rabbits or the horses and giving up.  Something or someone talks me through it, or sometimes it's a few sweet nuzzles and kisses that keep me going on.  I am trying to not get discouraged and some times things just get out of control.  But that's how life is, you roll with the punches.  Seeing friends do this and all I can do is sit back and watch makes me wonder 'who my friends REALLY are'.  I know growing up people change well I think sometimes change is good.  Maybe I ought to start thinking about change.  Change something and see who's still with me.  Future dreams- riding in low level dressage and Equitation for some fun and showing my dutch bunnies with a husband.  With what I have, can I get there?  I don't know.  Yes I've got the dutch bunnies but can I make them more competitive?  I think so.  Low Level Dressage-no, Pheonix is too old and Heidi's too clutzy but I haven't the pasture space or the money to afford another horse, nor the trainer to get me there.  The husband?  No, I am seriously not the attractive type for men.  It's a depressing day especially after last night's conversations.  I really do Surrender to life.
Well work becons me, I might edit and update after work depending on how late I am there.

First ride in 2.5 months!

It was good, had to get both of us back into it for riding. It was only about 30-45 minutes but It was a good start, we ended on a good note after a little fuss-fuss over wanting to be done when Heidi said so and me saying NO.
We did alright for today, especially not being undersaddle in 2.5 months and no real lunging at all either, did a little bending and bonding work but that's been all.
Pheonix ran the fence the whole time we were out of the fence.
Gave all 3 of us a good work out- that's for sure.  Heidi did do better steering, she tried to tell me when she wanted to stop, but I made her kept going and ended on my note and a good one at that. Then, since I know the ponies have wanted it soo badly for sooo long I let them out into the backyard to eat some of the green grass near their pasture.

As for bunny update- I have a sale ready for one of Becky's babies when it gets up there. Someone wants a blue showable doe ready for KY Cup in April- a baby.  Okay, no problem there!  I'm also looking into switching rabbit feeds yet again.  The Nutrena is just simply too far away to go and get, in Alexandria, when I start to run out- 2 hour drive EACH WAY.  Seriously not a fun day when it comes time to get Rabbit Feed.  I'm looking at PenPals, which is almost an hour closer in Cynthiana.  I've heard plenty of good reviews about it and I have another closer rabbit breeder and friend that uses it and she loves it.  Still working the cost analysis on it to compare Purina Dealer, Nutrena Dealer, PenPals Dealer and a Manna Pro dealer.  I seriously love doing cost analysis', I need to get this love for genetics and learn color genetics of Dutch rabbits.  I much prefer the math!

Having a gorgeous day

Well I didn't get a chance to ride today- that was kind of depressing because I have been so looking forward to riding again but it was far too windy. I trust Heidi with everything, but she's still a green broke horse and a bit silly.  So I went through and did a TON of bunny pictures.  I had to get Becky's babies pictures done and do a much more thorough go through on her kits to see what I had coming up.

And then a few of the juniors most of them are for sale but this little one:Penelope, is one of the keepers.

Then off to the horses.  I had intended to ride today but it was far too windy.  The round bales I picked up yesterday riht before the rain came in, they don't like, they wouldn't even touch the first one, so I sent the second one over for the cows to eat-which they LOVE.  Good I guess.   Otherwise I was going to use it as a land filler for creating land bridges over some culverts.
So I went ahead and at least got the horses brushed out and then got some pictures taken.

So hopefully tomorrow after Micheal gets done with their hooves tomorrow morning I'll give her a couple more hours to relax and get used to her toes being normal and then we'll tack up and gor for a ride!
